Our Theme For This Summer is "Making Good Choices (And Having A Blast Doing It!)"

The Daily (Monday - Friday) "Making Good Choices" sessions will be held in the Newton Lounge of the West Central Community Center, situated on the west edge of Canon Park (Top Left). The Neighborhood Block Party & Concert will be around the pavilion just north of the swimming pool in Canon Park (Top Right).

A few snapshots of our daily "Making Good Choices" activities!

June Wyrich works with kids & puppets, while former Gonzaga basketball players Tony Skinner (left) and Winston Brooks (right) hang out with some of our kids while telling them about the importance of "making good choices"!

Setting Up. This was the "lull" before the storm! Thanks to The Spokane Dream Center Men's Discipleship for the great setup crew they sent! We couldn't have done it without them!

The cooking team prayed and then the people came! We estimate that we served between 700 and 1,000 people!

Yep, that's the line for the food! The Gospel Cavaliers from Calvary Baptist Church sang to people in line!

Jim Helgeson taught kids taught kids how to do "spin art". There was something for everybody!

Grammy nominated rap artist Scoob Serious connected with the kids with his awesome message of a transformed life!

From the very outset we said that the purpose of "West Central Summer Blast Week"  was to have fun, then to offer neighborhood kids a fun opportunity to work on character building life skills, and to invite the West Central neighborhood community to connect in a meaningful way that will help lay a foundation for long-term working relationships between people, churches, ministries and community organizations built upon trust and spiritual integrity. We think we achieved that goal!

Our Thanks to all of the groups and ministries who came together to make this week a reality!
